“I have over 35 years’ experience in childcare and 16 years in leadership. I have been at the Preschool since September 2004 with some time out from September 2017-June 2018.”

“Over the years I have had the privilege of working with some wonderful people, some whom are still with me. Over the past 16 years we have achieved one good and two consecutive outstanding Ofsted grades which we are all extremely proud of.”

“I am a leader and a pro-active team member who works hard to give all children the best possible start to early years education.”

With the support of my team I run the setting on a day to day basis ensuring we meet the statutory requirements of the early years foundation stage and work within our policies and procedures. I am also the lead person for safeguarding. In addition to this role I work in the setting as a key person to a group of children.

In the setting I love reading stories and bringing them to life using props and different voices. I also enjoy getting messy in the foam and other sensory resources.

“I am a mum to 4 children and a nanny to 5 grandchildren. I love going on holiday and spending time at the seaside in my caravan.
In my spare time I like nothing more than sitting in the garden with a good book!”

“I initially started out as a parent - with my daughter attending at this preschool back in 2007. I decided I wanted to change my career from working as a Legal Secretary to pursue my passion of working with children in 2011 and was lucky enough to be offered some hours at Preschool as I did my Diploma”.

“Over the years I have learned from some fantastic mentors here, who have constantly supported me on my journey to becoming the best Practitioner I can be”

“After becoming the Deputy Manager in 2017 – and running it for a brief period following Mrs Miller taking some time out – I am now in charge of planning and assessing the children’s levels as well as offering overall support to Mrs Miller within the setting.”

“In the setting I can often be found building in the construction area with the children or getting my groove on with the instruments as we sing along to familiar songs, using the puppets.
"I love to make the children laugh!”

“As a mum of a young teenager, life is pretty hectic in my spare time but on those oh so rare times to myself, I love to spend time laughing and socialising with my family and friends.

"I joined this lovely setting in 2018 and everyone has made me feel so welcome!"
" I believe the 'In the moment approach' that the setting applies is the way to support and extend children's learning."
Children learn best when they are interested, rather than having it imposed upon them.

I am the lead person for the Letters and Sounds programme. My role is to research fun and exciting ways to promote speaking and listening skills.

I am a mum to a teenage boy and a primary aged girl. Life is pretty busy but I always make time for my garden; planting and watching the colourful flowers grow. I am creative and enjoy sharing my new ideas. My character spoons have been a hit with the children!

"My passion is to extend children's learning using story sacks and props."
"Since joining the setting I have got married and had a baby, so most of my home life is now taken up with my gorgeous little boy, but when I do get a little bit of spare time I like to read blogs!

"I joined Rooks Nest Preschool in October 2019 as an Early Years Practitioner/SEND Coordinator and immediately felt welcomed by the staff, children and parents.
All staff have been very helpful and supportive."

" As a practitioner there's nothing more I enjoy than getting 'messy' with the children in all areas of creativity; from paint at the creative table, to lovely sticky mud in the outdoor mud kitchen!"

As a SEND coordinator, I support children and their families; ensuring access to resources and support so children can meet targeted goals."
"I am a mum to a 10 year old boy and in my spare time I enjoy cooking and spending time with my family and friends."
